Mrs. Catalene Theriot, Victims Assistant Coordinator, was invited to be a guest speaker at this year’s 45th Annual NOVA Conference held in Phoenix, Arizona. She spoke about her journey, “After the Verdict-Not Always the End of a Case”. She shared her perspective of the murder of her only child, how it affected the family and community, what the trial process was like, and the experience of continuing of her journey through Victim Offender Dialogue.
NOVA (National Organization for Victims Assistance) was founded in 1975, is the oldest national victim assistance organization of its type in the United States and is the recognized leader in victim advocacy, education and credentialing. This year’s conference theme was Advocates United, We Are Survivor Strong. The conference had 1900 attendees from all over the country and world.
