New Iberia, July 17, 2025: 16th Judicial District Attorney M. Michael Haik, III announces:
Travis Alexander, 36, of St. Martinville, previously pled guilty to third degree rape on April 29, 2025. A sentencing hearing was set before Judge Roger Hamilton, Jr. on July 14, 2025.
In this case, the juvenile victim reported that Alexander raped her. She was examined by a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE). At the sentencing hearing, both the SANE nurse and Detective J. Boudreaux with the St. Martinville Police Department testified.
Alexander was sentenced to the maximum sentence—twenty-five years at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence.
