On August 23, 2019, De'ondric Clarks (D.O.B. 01-26-2001), age 18, of New Iberia, La. was found guilt of Second Degree Murder by a jury. On October 23, 2016, officers with the Franklin Police Department responded to the 500 block of Augustine Maze Street in Franklin where they found Braylen Foulcard (16 years of age), shot and killed inside his vehicle. Through investigation it was learned that the victim had arranged to meet Clarks to sell a cellphone.
Sentencing has been set for November 22, 2019 before the Honorable Keith Comeaux. Clarks faces a mandatory sentence of life in prison. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney, Erica Johnson Rose.
