th Judicial District Attorney Bo Duhé announces the conviction of DAVID JAVON ARCENEAUX, 24. Arceneaux was originally charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder, one count of attempted armed robbery, and one count of distribution of marijuana. After two days of testimony, an Iberia Parish jury returned a verdict, finding Arceneaux guilty of three counts of attempted manslaughter, one count of attempted armed robbery, and one count of distribution of marijuana.
The Honorable Judge Curtis Sigur presided over the case. Assistant District Attorney Nicole Burke prosecuted the case.
On December 2, 2016 the three victims traveled from Pineville, LA to purchase marijuana. During the transaction, Arceneaux robbed one of the victims and fired multiple gunshots at the vehicle occupied by the three victims. All three victims were struck by the gunfire.
A sentencing hearing is scheduled for Arceneaux on July 11, 2018. He faces up to forty-nine and a half years in prison.
